The privacy promise, in plain words.

This is the short version of how Zarzur treats your data. The full legal policy will be published before the app is in the stores.

You don't need an account to drive

Search, routes and turn-by-turn work without signing in. You only need an account to send reports, earn points or save places across phones. Sign-in uses your phone number and a one-time code.

What we collect while you drive

Your speed and position every few seconds, sent in batches, so we can work out how fast each road is moving.

Each trip gets a new random ID. We cut the first and last 300 metres of every trace, so the place you start and finish never reaches us.

Trips are stored only as coarse areas, not addresses.

How long we keep it

Raw GPS points are deleted after 30 days. After that we keep only averages per road and per 15 minutes.

Reports you send are kept while they are useful and then archived without your name.

Ads, if you see them

Ads are chosen by the road, the search and the time of day. We never build a personal ad profile and we never sell location histories.

Advertisers only see totals from groups of at least 50 drivers.

Where the data lives

Data is hosted in the region, and our hosting can move into Iraq if the law requires it. We follow the CMC framework regulations for digital platforms.

Your controls

Export or delete your data from Settings at any time. Friends on the map is off until you turn it on, per trip or per person.

Questions go to our privacy team by email. We answer in Arabic, Kurdish or English.
